7 FREE Print on Demand Design Tools

These 7 design tools are great for print on demand or commercial graphic design – making logos and designs for websites etc. if you don’t have paid tools.

I’ve used them all, and while paid tools do make life easier, they are perfect if you’re on a budget and there is no doubt you can make designs that sell with free tools only.

They include 100% free open source software you can use straight in your browser or download, or tools which have premium subscriptions but are functional in the free version.

1. DesignEvo

DesignEvo is a logo design tool with a lot of fully editable professional templates, that works well for print on demand too. You can also make a design from scratch with their many icons and text options.

To download individual logos in high quality and for commercial use (without credit) you will have to pay a one off fee, however you can still create free logos and use them with credit.

2. Gravit Designer

Gravit is a powerful graphic design tool which allows you to create vector images. They have specific templates for print on demand shirt sizes so you can see what the design looks like on a shirt before you upload.

The free version is suitable for merch design and there is a 15 day PRO free trial when you sign up.

3. Creative Fabrica

Creative Fabrica is the largest online marketplace for graphic design assets, their strength being their huge range of professional fonts. They also have many svg files and icons for POD.

They have 45k+ FREE assets to download (which are actually great quality) – more than enough to choose from already.

You can also access their entire library of 3 MILLION+ assets using my deal on the ALL ACCESS pass below for your first month. See my full review of CF here.

4. Inkscape

Inkscape is a 100% free open source software to download, which you can use to create vector graphics and logos which you can export in SVG file format – perfect for getting those crisp designs. A great free replacement for Adobe Illustrator.

5. Canva

Canva is the go-to tool for commercial graphic design. It’s easy to splice together a professional presentation, logo, shirt design or video with this tool, and the free version is completely useable.

6. Photopea

Photopea is a 100% FREE open source browser version of Photoshop which is much simpler but retains the main functionalities and image quality. It’s great for background removal, splicing together icons and text and general quick edits.

Pairing it with another free design tool such as Canva or Creative Fabrica which has premade icons and fonts is a great way to make unique designs.

7. iPiccy

iPiccy is a 100% FREE in browser photo editor with all the basic functionalities such as airbrushing, changing color balances, retouching and liquify.

If you’re working with photos for your print on demand design, it is a great tool to edit them into something that will actually sell. Stop using instagram to edit photos, and start using this awesome free tool instead!
